A method for tightly coupled thermal-electrical simulation
نویسنده
چکیده
A method is presented to combine analog simulators (like SPICE) with device simulators (like ANSYS), for thermal-electrical analysis of integrated circuits or systems. A sketch of a rst prototype program is given together with the theoretical background, which makes use of convergence principles from Waveform Relaxation. It follows a short review of related work. Our approach can also be extended to more general problems occuring in microsystems simulation.

Optimization of Fan Geometry for Urban Train Traction Motors using Coupled Numerical Electromagnetic and Thermal Analysis
One of the most important parameters in designing electrical motors is heat generation by the motor and the way it is dissipated. Temperature rising reduce efficiency and reliability of traction motors and leads to failure. In this paper, an urban train traction motor in a 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation has been investigated. Maxwell software for electromagnetic simulation and...

Using ANSYS finite element (FE) package, a multi-physics simulation model based on finite element method (FEM) is introduced for the multi-layer switched reluctance motor (SRM) in the present paper. The simulation model is created totally in ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) as a parametric model usable for various conventional types of this motor and it is included electromagnetic, therm...

متن کاملUsing Finite Point Method for the Numerical Simulation of Heat Transfer Coupled with Microsegregation during Continuous Casting
In the present work, a meshless method called Finite Point Method (FPM) is developed to simulate the solidification process of a continuously cast steel bloom in both primary and secondary cooling regions. The method is based on the use of a weighted least-square interpolation procedure. A transverse slice of the bloom moving at casting speed is considered as the computational domain and two di...
متن کاملLayout to Circuit Extraction for Three-Dimensional Thermal-Electrical Circuit Simulation of Device S - Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, IEEE Transactions on
In this paper, a method is proposed for extraction of coupled networks from layout information for simulation of electrothermal device behavior. The networks represent a threedimensional (3-D) device structure with circuit elements. The electrical and thermal characteristics of this circuit representation are calculated with a circuit simulator. Spatial potential distributions, current flows, a...
